Born: October 7th, 1925

Passed on: January 16th, 2013

Edna May Christian was a Caring and wonderful mother , who left us on January 16th, 2013. She was born on October 7th,1925 to Duncan and Millicent McCarthy of Halifax, Nova Scotia , A sister to Evelyn, and Marjorie , Robert, William and Neil. Edna lived most of her childhood in Jollimore, on the outskirts of the city and very close to the beautiful North West Arm and Dingle area. Mom loved her brothers and sisters , her grand children and great grand children very much. She made friends of everyone she met, from the sample ladies at the grocery store to the care givers from red cross. Mom's greatest companions however were her pets. Her dog , sinjun, and two cats , Timmy and Sammy. When mom found out she wouldn't be able to live in her home again, she worried about her pets  and worried about their demise . ...as did her son. Lo and behold, her diabetes nurse, Yvonne , offered to take them all and adopted them into her family. Sinjun's almost daily visit to mom's hospital room was an especially highlight of her day. Mom loved her independence and held onto it right until her last hour. Her last hours were spent visiting with Sinjun and Norma Bean her room mate. The doctor had given her permission for a two hour out of hospital visit with Gary and Annabelle the next day and she was telling everyone she was going to Burger king for a whopper. As a surprise  Yvonne had returned unexpectedly with a fresh whopper from burger king. She smiled and said "what am I going to do with you?". Mom asked one of the nurses to place it in the fridge for later.mom was happily talking about her family with the nurses.  She returned to her bed and was talking with a nurse and suddenly with no warning, peacefully and painlessly passed into eternity. You will be missed forever mom. The world is not the same with out you . Love you |||
