"mom, it's been two years since you passed and you are just as missed now as you were then. as you know not alot has changed, ev is still doing okay. we talk about you all the time, mostly sharon and me. we keep in touch , also roddy. Edna was born in Halifax , Nova Scotia on October 7th, 1925 to Millicent and Duncan McCarthy. The family lived on Geyser's mountain ,Fairview for a while then settled in Jollimore , on Parkhill Rd, where her sister evelyn still resides. Besides Edna, there were two sisters, Evelyn, and Marjorie, brothers Robert, Bill and Neil who passed away at six months of age. Duncan was tragically killed in 1932, leaving millie to bring up the family on her own. She had the post office in her home for a while and managed. She later married Charlie Yeadon . Edna loved to Dance and to the day she passed away talked of her memories of dancing during the war years with her many friends. She worked at Sears for a number of years, and eventually married George (mac) pineo in 1950. Mac worked for CNR and they eventually moved to Montreal where they lived for ten years . Gary was adopted in 1954 and Edna left for Nova Scotia around 1959 when her marriage to Mac ended.
